We’ve reached the end of 2025, and I have December’s indie author numbers to share. I record this group of numbers in a public post for those interested to peruse. It’s my hope that fellow indie authors and aspiring authors will see not every writer’s path looks the same.
Overall sales were lower this month, which is a bummer. However, compared to other months, it’s due to the fact I only had a single, small live event. I need to step up my online sales in 2026, but that will be another post.
Bookstore sales brought in income as I offered to restock books for holiday shopping. I do love my indie bookstores. I aim to make any restocking as painless as possible, making deliveries whenever it’s most convenient to the owners’ schedules.
What I’m quite happy about this month is the audiobook number. The majority of the over $100 in royalties is due to a Chirp deal I secured. Fear the Wolf : Alex Steward Book One was on sale for only $0.99. In addition to the audiobook being discounted on Chirp, I also discounted the book on my Payhip store, Kobo, and Spotify. Like the print books, it’s my hope that a percentage of readers will fall in love with the first audiobook and read on through the next three audiobooks. Fingers crossed.
